    evo n1020v blank screen/wont boot

    when i push the on button i get 1 single flash from hard drive led then rom fires up and searches disc. fans run cpu warms up but no display and no sign of it booting

    First off, this is a Compa l and not a Compa q forum.

    Hook it up to a external monitor.

    Do you hear a sound, e.g. from entering Windows OS?

    Remove RAM, and check rebooting. You should hear a error sound. If not, your mainboard may be down.

    Other options are that your grafic chip is gone or the display.

    Report back if you need further assistance - but a Compaq forum would perhaps be better.
