So, I made this topic so that we can gather our thoughts about the fan control. I know some of the zeptos have options in BIOS to set the triggers, but, everyone dont...
So, a fan control program running in the OS would be good. I would just want the dynamicness of having and application that controls hardware without reboots.
I would need this:
- Low fan operating profile, triggers at the point it does in the 011 for 6625, at 59C, but it could turn off the fans at maby 54C not 51.5 like it does right now.
- Cool profile, when gaming, my fan never goes to full speed, due to undervolting, but, I use headphones, so I cant hear the fans. So I would want it to go to the full speed, and reduce the max temp from around 85C to the lowest possible with the fan.
This would also allow higher OC on the GPU, becos it looks like the fan is mostly operating by the processor temp, not so much GPU. So putting it in highest speed would reduce the GPUs temp too from around 89 (not OCd).
Please Zepto do this :rolleyes2:

Though I'm still crawling as a newbie here with all this undervolting,
overclocking and what not, those requests are pretty much inline
with my own needs so I 2nd the motion to get this 'utility' application
made! -
Well we asked for this on the Bios thread, but good idea to make a dedicated thread.
The problem is with BIOS 011. The fans kick in too early in the new bios.
In 008, I have no problem. When the temp goes above 60-65 it kicks in, which suits me fine.
What about SpeedFan? Does it support Santa Rosa ? -
the problem with these programs are that they dont fully support all the hardware and the combination of them. Thats why we need to have Zepto to do it...

Yes, we did raise this previously and provision of such a utility (similar to I8kfanGIU would enhance Zepto's image as a user-friendly brand.
I did once try changing the temperature settings in the 6024W BIOS but there was no change to the fan operation.
The current 6024W fan setting is to turn on at about 55C and switch off at about 46C. The on setting is OK and, under light usage, drops the temperature down to about 50C very quickly but getting down to the off temperature takes about 3 times longer.
