Which of those is the quieter laptop?
Is it true that the S96J runs warmer but quieter than the HEL80?
I read in some reviews and here at NBR that some HEL80 owners are not very pleased with how the fan behaves: it is on for a minute then off for another minute and so on?
I can understand those who find this annoying: the "quiet factor" is really important to me: I've read the S96J is impressive in this department?
Has any solution to this particular HEL80 fan behavior been found? Hopefully a BIOS fix rather than some speedfan type workaround?
    So many questions, sorry...
I'd appreciate any input from HEL80/S96J owners about all this: Make some noise!! :)
    Thanks in advance!

Well I don't have the S96j, but the HEL80 does run pretty quiet. The fan for me, on some occasions, goes on and off, and its slightly noticable, other times its whisper quiet and you can't hear it at all over the sound of your keyboard going TAPPIDY TAPPIDY TAP TAP BOINK, except the keyboard doesn't go boink, I just like that word. During games and such, I don't usually hear it unless I mute the game... if you really are sensitive to noise in fans.. well I can't help you there. But if you get the HEL80, you probably won't be bothered by the fan.

The HEL80's fan is very quiet. It does go on/off/on/off from time to time, but to me it's so quiet I don't even notice most of the time.

The fan's quite quiet ( :D ), but it took me a while to get used to it because it's not always on.
