Hello people. I have a problem with fps.
    Compal Fl90
    Video - Ati M Radeon HD 4650
I Use search but not find something exactly because reason may be anyway.
    So explain the problem.
Long time i have win7 32x and i havent any problems. But few day ago i need to install win7 64x because need use afftet effects cs5. Im install 64x was happy make work in AE, but when i start the game like Legue of Legends or CSS i find hard fps drops.
At start game work normal but sometimes i have drops for 70% fps. Its happend for 20 or 30 seconds. And stay normal again. So i thougt its growing from win 64x. I install again win 7 32x. BUT! No effect. Its happend again and again.

    OMG! I was frustrated.
So i have any ideas about that. May be new vido driver change something. I dont have oldest version of driver and cant check this. I research by gpu-z and understand that drops happing because of Gpu load drop to 20% it is happend when t is 86 degrees.
It is protect of card? Why before i havent this problems?
Anyway what you can say about that? I need reconstruct my notebook now for more cooling or exist other ways?

    Hi Eugini,

check if your PCI-E link drops from x16 to x1 - remember that PM I sent you a while ago?

Easiest would be to run GPU-Z and start a FurMark run in parallel - check FPS, in case they drop, look at the PCI-E field of GPU-Z - if it goes down to x1, you know the reason.

But anyway, it's strange it did not happen before - I doubt the video card protects itself by "downclocking" itself.

    Cheers

No PCI-e fleid is x16 @ x16 everytime. I check it in games. When fps is down then i see PCI and there is no changes. BUT i use FurMark. Up temperaute to 90 degrees. Dont see that gpu load drop... Very strange. In games it down. But in FurMark gpu all time is load. May be somewhere software fail? Any ideas?

Are you using AMD drivers, or those that are coming with Win7?

Sorry, I really don't know what could cause this ... did you try any other games? Does it happen with all games?

    Cheers

    Try these or these

No guarantee they work, though! You should find a mirror hosting older versions, somewhere, I guess.

I have the same problem on my HD5650M. I do not know what happened to the GPU. But even with getting a new motherboard ( +GPU) it didnt change.
Its an driver problem. Install newest chipset drivers etc. but get them from the part producers itself.
