So i'm about 99% sure that a Compal HE80 is that lappy to go with.

How much can you talk down the price from the places listed in the FAQ?
Does anyone have any experience doing this?

I'm looking to go with the T7200, 1gb ram[I'll upgrade it myself], 80 or 100gb [hopefully Seagate]

Can you get any free upgrades, arctic 5 or whatnot paying with "cash?"

Hardly any movement. Some sellers have some phone in deals though, and depending on yourself they may be worth while or not.

Some dealers may offer 2-3% cash discount aswell. But, ultimately don't expect a whole lot.

Best way to find out is to call around and ask. Some resellers do offer "price match", but to what extent they can do that I'm not 100% sure.

Keep in mind that it may be worth it to spend a little more to buy from a good reseller, than to save a few bucks and then deal with poor support later on.

I know powernotebooks have phone in deals. I also checked prices of RAM when I ordered mine, and they charged me the same as I'd have paid on newegg.

When I was looking into getting a compal hel80 about a month ago (I eventually went with a thinkpad for other reasons), Justin from xoticpc.com was able to give me a better price than the website. He was very helpful, try it out. As a starting point, go to powernotebooks.com and milestonepc.com (check the US and canadian site, they have different prices) and negotiate from there.
