All hard drives make clicking noises, so I don't see how you can "eliminate" it.

Try not to use the hard drive as much so it won't be accessed, thereby reducing the clicking noise?

I recently bought the SAMSUNG HM250JI.
Needed the space, but discovered the drive is making a clicking noise.
It doesn't make a difference using the notebook or just leave it running for some times, te clicking noise is there.
Contacted SAMSUNG received and S.M.A.R.T. tool for vista (Free) and i am running the tool making log files like requested by SAMSUNG.
SAMSUNG informed me by email, with the terms warranty is 4 years so no issue so far.
