How do I check if the Tv-tuner card is actually in my computer without opening my dear 6625wd. I have the same problem as a previous poster so now i'm thinking that there just isn't any tv-tuner card installed on the machine... :(

    Many thanks
    Adam

If the TV tuner is installed in the machine and no drivers are installed there will be an unknown device in the Device Manager.
If it is installed it will be under Sound, Video and Gaming devices and be called USB 7470 (or something along those lines).

Do you have an external antenna connected to the TV antenna socket?

Without this the TV signals will probably be too weak for the tuner to lock on.

What size external antenna did you try? Did you connect to an external antenna which you know is fine for a TV? My USB TV tuner came with a baby antenna which can't pick up a signal. Once you know you are connected to a good antenna then the next step is to check out the software.

Another possible software is Total Media 3. It's the only player which would work properly with my Freecom USB DTV stick. There's a link someone in the Freecom support forum.

However, the biggest headache I had was choosing the right driver for the TV stick. Several appeared to work, but did not. I wonder whether the driver is the cause of your problems.
