Hello. I have this problem. My keyboard for my labtop stopped working. I suspected it may have been a virus, so I plugged in my usb wireless mouse and keyboard and they worked fine. But here is my problem: I suspected that my labtop had a virus so I downloaded a virus scan from the internet and put it on to my labtop from my other computer. The scan found no viruses. So then I thought I could fix the problem by formatting my computer and reinstalling windows. Well guess what? It didn't fix my problem when I formatted my labtop and reinstalled windows. My labtop's keyboard still won't work (as in it won't allow me to type in anything). I am perplexed about this problem and do not know what to do to fix it. Please help me! =)

Thank you so much for any help I can get =)

    Yours sincerely,

    Messianic Nation

Have you spilled anything? Did anything get in there? Have you dropped it? Maybe the ribbon connector under the keyboard has gotten loose. You may have to take it out and reinsert the ribbon cable. Also, it's laptop.

    - I didn't spill anything

    - Nothing got in there

    - Didn't drop it

    - Where is the ribbon connector?

    - How to I reinsert a ribbon cable?

Is there anything out that might be the problem?

Outside? I don't think there's anything outside. You should look for the service manual for your particular laptop and see how to remove the keyboard. It should list all the steps. All you have to do when is take off the keyboard while following the instructions, and there should be a cable attached to the back of it. It should be inserted into a slot on the motherboard, all you have to do is pull it out gently, and then push it back in all the way. Or just push it in first before you take it out and see if that helps. Only do this if you're comfortable though, and be sure to discharge yourself on a piece of metal before you touch the insides of the computer. :)
