Hope they fix it soon.

Looks like they had a hard drive failure, we know that pain as it's happened to our servers before, it's not fun. Best of luck to them.

This is why I like RAID 0 and RAID 5...

First this now the best phone service i ever had is gone, RIP Sunrocket...

A week later and still down
This kills me, that was THE PLACE, about the only place with a good averatec archive. Hopefully things will pickup around here -
It's sad if they don't come back
It is/was a good forum for Averatec users...as I type this from my 2260-EH1.
-
Doesn't look like many of the users there know about this forum.
-
I miss the forums.
I had just asked a user there about his Averatec 1579 and the forum goes down two hours later, just my luck. Will they ever come back? -
No idea. I hope so. Anyone know the admin over there or his email?? It would be neat if he would refer people over here in the mean time.
-
The administrator is haner. <[email protected]> Unfortunately mail is bouncing with the site down.

I thought maybe the domain expired but it's good til next year.
Found a couple numbers, I will try them tomorrow. -
Yup still down, and some of us do know about this forum
I've been watching the site because Averatec FINALLY sent me my upgrade disc for Vista.
It's a clear box that looks like something I'd buy a bootleg DVD out of it. The label is a generic white label without logo other than "averatec blah blah" in a plain font.
Good to know it took them almost a YEAR for this incredibly complicated upgrade DVD. -
Anyone know the email for "scottinco"? He was pretty much the only moderator on the site regularly.

If someone would join that board and send him a pm that might yield some results. -
I miss the forum too, even though I only have one Averatec left in my aresenal of laptops.

Hi Scotty!
Thanks for the response. Miss the forum. Hope it is back soon.

I just noticed the other day that the site was down. Very odd issues surrounding it. Some of you may remember me as 'stevelam' from the board. Anyway I went ahead and decided to create another averatec site here http://www.averatec-forums.com in case anyone needs a more 'dedicated' forum for averatec gear. Hope to see some of the old regulars return.

Join us over there.
Note the dash. -
Ahh, thanks. Darn, I had a lot of posts on the that other site with valuable information. So it's all lost?
-

-
Is it just me or has the new averatec forum vanished?
http://www.averatec-forums.com/ -
-
I guess no one cares....
-
Still down .... anyone know how to get in touch with the owner. I think his name was Steve Lam.
-
It does not surprise me that those forums are down...they've been down for a long long time.
Just means they've stopped paying the bill to keep that webpage saying "we'll be back!" finally down. Truth is now out...they aren't coming back.
Sorry guys. -

All about the new averatec forums being down for a little bit. Kinda sad imho, I really missed the days of the old forums and now even the new forums are down too and probably to never return. -
I can't tell you how many times I checked the old Averatec Forums in the last year hoping that they would return. These forums look great and I guess they'll help me decide on my next computer (probably not an Averatec).

Original: http://www.averatecforums.com

Have there been any successful attempts to resurrect the support forums? If not, and there is still interest, please head over to averatec.net23.net to see if there is critical mass to continue. Please let anyone else you know who might be interested as well.
http://www.averatecforums.com RIP
