I've noticed that during game-play my overclocked core speed ramps back down to 4.2Ghz and I don't know if this is a feature I can disable. Can anyone help shed light on this?

    Thanks

    Here's a quick layman's answer.

I don't have experience with the 7700k (only 7700hq), but I do know you'll need to share more information so people can be of more help. In the case of the 7700hq, as soon as extra cores get involved the clock speed drops, as it cannot sustain the max frequency on multiple cores.

Thanks for the reply, I'm currently working on updating to the latest BIOS version to see if that has better stability etc, I have the correct files but I'm having an issue in loading the USB, I follow the instructions for setting up a bootable DOS drive with Rufus but when I boot from it flickers for a second and then goes back to the boot menu. Do you know if there's anything specific you have to do with the files from this bios repository? ( http://repo.palkeo.com/clevo-mirror/)

    Thanks
