Hi i was wondering if anyone bought a customized colored laptop from either of these guys?? They look about the same and the prices are pretty much even, but i'd like to know if their paint shops are worth paying for? I'd hate to pay extra for the paint job and have it scratched/melted off like nothing. Please let me know about your experiences with either of these company's. thanks!

hey there. not sure if you ever got a response to this. i just ordered a laptop from ibuypower with the magma red paintjob. i'm hoping it looks good! did you decide on ibuypower or cyberpower?
-
I don't know about the product but I know that cyberpowersystem will not stand behind what that guarantee in writing. I ordered a computer same day ship Guaranteed it wasn't shipped. this was two days ago. it won't ship for at least three more & when asked what guarantee means to them I was told it means we will try hard.

cyberpower's customer service has got to be the worst. Ill mannered, cocky retards. Do a search on google and put cyberpower problems and you will see how many complains this company got and also can you believe Cnet put them as a top seller..
shows how reliable Cnet is. -
If you guys had paid attention, the last option for every pc at cyberpower is
rush
they make each pc individually so it takes 5-7 days to make it, unless you fork over money for a rush job, and the free shipping is for the shipping, it takes 1 day from WHEN it ships, not when you order it.... and ya'll call them retarded. -
reseller ratings does not rank them very well-seems their service is pretty poor.

Never bought a laptop from Cyberpower, but bought a desktop...and will NEVER buy anything from them again.
After taking approx 4 weeks to get to my door, it arrived with 2 of 3 case fans hanging out of the case and the wiring (clear panel side) looked like a kindergarten class did it during recess. It had an FX-55, and that eventually crashed as well...NEVER NEVER NEVER buying anything from Cyberpower again. -
Don't buy anything from either. You'll end up just getting a paintjob. The computer will either be DOA or will break down in a month. Then you're screwed. My ibuypower laptop was RMA'd 5 times in a row. Spent 11 months in RMA. They took 2 months to build it initially. You can put the thing together in under 15 minutes. I can and have done so myself.
The paint job will set your shipdate back by 2-3 weeks. I have also heard their paintjobs are horrible. Chipping, flaking, runs, drips, the works. I pulled my ibuypower apart the day after the warranty expired and painted it myself. Thankfully they fixed it right before the warranty expired and now I get to use my lappy after a years waiting. To bad it's outdate and a POS now. I use it as my linux computer...so... guess it wasn't a TOTAL waste. I put together an Asus Z96J a few weeks ago(got it the day after it was released) and use that now. Much better than ibuypower. Stay away from these resellers. You'll thank me later. -
to me a notebook between manufactuers with the same specs is the same notebook, at least it was, untill notebookreview forums, i really wanted the ibuy power notebook with the cool cameo paint job instead i bought the dell e1705.....thank God!

I've got an ibuypower with the purple paintjob and I can't say enough against them. First off, the purple in all their pictures and the purple of my computer, not even close. Second, when I first got this machine, there was a little bubble in the paint. After a whopping two month wait time to get it shipped to me, I wasn't willing to ship it back to have a imperfect paintjob fixed. Unfortunately, since then, that bubble has split to reveal a crack underneath that prevents my laptop from being even remotely portable. Ibuypower won't say anything about it other then "physical damage doesn't fall under our warranty." All I've ever done with the thing is open and close it. Also, now that the crack has revealed the inside of the machine, I can see how incredibly flimsy it all is. Stay away from IBUYPOWER!
