i can recc 3m glaze or what they call "swirl remover" available at even wal mart. make sure to get the super or ultra fine version. this removes a lot of fine surface scratches from the ocz pretty easily and doesnt add any more in doing so.
it will leave a slight dulled haze after being polished.
once you have polished out the scratches now i recc using meguires yellow wax. this acts as a super fine polish and will remove that haze from the wirl remover easily. this will not work for deep scratches but fine scuffs and light scratches come out pretty easily.
make sure to use microfiber cloth ONLY. and use a VERY small amount at a time so not to get it in the cracks..
do small spots instead of trying to do the whole thing at once.
also the yellow wax works flawless if you peel off the ati sticker and it leaves residue behind. a dab of the yellow wax and a few seconds later it wipes right of.. the yellow wax makes this thing GLEAM.. the guy that picked his up today was like wow.. when he saw how shiny it was lol i waxed it all up before getting it to him..

I was actually sitting in front of my laptop this very moment wondering how long it would take before I go insane wiping off fingerprints.
Literally losing my mind working for a little while then wiping off the fingerprints, then working for a while, then wiping off the fingerprints....rinse, lather, repeat, rinse, lather, repeat, rinse, lather, repeat, rinse, lather, repeat, rinse, lather, repeat, rinse, lather, repeat,

omg yeah i know.. just working on that unit was like.. arghhhhhh i wanted to wear cotton gloves..

OCZ's designers are mad! mad! i say! I think they are anarchists whose ultimate plan is to limit the productivity of laptop users everywhere by foisting this ultra glossy fingerprint magnets to poor unsuspecting computer users.
Think about?!?! How can I get any work done if I have to stop every three minutes to wipe off the case with my 3m microfiber cloth!?!?! Projects that used to take hours ...oops...hold on....
wipe wipe wipe
now, where was I...? oh yes..Projects that used to take hours will take days!...dang

Dammit woman! Get away from my laptop with those fingers ! You just ate ice cream!

edit: i guess you can get skins to. even though it maybe wouldnt look right. -
seriously the yellow wax seems to provide a nice layer so prints can be wiped off pretty easy. i showed the customer and they stopped to get a bottle..
i have his here now again and im updating some things for him.. and man im afraid to touch it lol. me and glossy dont mix im OCD to the max with the finishes -
As I mentioned on another thread, this high gloss black stuff is the rage now and my friend has the same problem on a Dell 9" notebook he just bought. He put a big skin on the cover.
Keep in mind that as with car finishes, the more you wipe and polish the greater chance you will creat swirl marks from dirt and grit that get in the cloth or tissue. And looks like this UV-cured resin stuff scratches easily. For that reason I just leave mine filthy. Even the screen. Not sure how I will handle this yet.
I was thinking of vacuuming first but the bristles on the brush might scratch the finish. Blowing with compressed air before wiping may blow dust under the keyboard. -
buff buff buff ^^^ when wiping to prevent that make sure the cloth is damp. i use eagle one "wax as you dry" spray wax to clean it. this way anything loose doesnt scratch the gloss. as long as the microfiber is damp you should be okay. you dont want to go buffing it even with microfiber if the microfiber is dry or you are not wiping off the wax..wipe wipe wipe

Ok, all these different products and things are starting to confuse me. Would anyone care to post a quick, step-by-step of what you need to do and what product(s) you need? I got a microfiber cloth from the auto section at walmart and have been using that dry
-
this is what i use to clean normally spray a couple squirts on the microfiber cloth and i clean everything with this keyboard and all apply and gently buff dry in a few seconds:

and to wax the surface i use this it also removes adhesives instantly this does have a very minor polishing effect to it and removes very fine swirl marks as well. :

Has anyone decided to custom paint their Whitebook/M17 so they could save on psychiatrist bills? I'm curious how it looks. I've only seen one M17 painted, but it was a solid light blue color I wasn't fond of. Has anyone else seen pictures of customized whitebooks?

K|N offers modded palm rests.. those look like they'd get prints too though. I'm considering a personal tie-dye appearance mod.. what you think?

a great alternative is sem paint. it is a ultra durable plastic paint ( which ill be doing when i get my own personal system) and is available in a matte black finish. they also sell a texture spray which gives the paint that leather type look to it in a way. than ill use a satin clear to go over it.
then no more prints..
with the sem paint just scuff the surface up good with a fine paper like 1000 then use a plastic prep or plastic primer. this will fill the scratches i like a brand called poly-fill myself.
then the sem paint lays down so awesome its crazy. just do light coats and it always blends perfectly even if you have to touch up a spot with the spray later. i love sem products..
wipe wipe..
if anyone gets a lot of fine scratches in the gloss
