I can pull 3.5hrs with my IFL90, I just have to dimm my screen and underclock my video card, and put Notebook Hardware Control to max battery.

hmmmm... thanks. it'd be nice if we had a barebones section to refer to. i suggested it in the suggestions forum. i'm wondering if i should get the ifl90 of hel80. the ifl90 is a much better value considering i can't find anything much cheaper on a hel80. the hel80 wins hands down on battery though. what to do? what to do?

I can pull 3h in average with a 9 cell battery. If you are a gamer and you are often on the move, you better buy two extra batteries, you will need them.

Does anyone know the cheapest place to buy a 9cell battery for the ifl90 in the U.K.?Also can you tell me what the product number (P/N) is and how many Amp hours(Ah) or milliamp hours(mAh) the 9 cell batery is?
    Cheers

It is using a 9-cell. I have Notebook Hardware Control using my CPU to full power, thats what eats my power, I'm sure I can pull 4+hrs but I don't want to compromise performance, and 3.5hrs is more than enough for me.

My IFL90 came with a 9cell, and it is Sanyo 7200mAh (says it on the battery) It says Model: Batel80L9

    thanks for the info vashts121
So if i wanted i could get over 4 hrs from a 9 cell battery if im just watching films(not using the dvd drive)?Ill be using the laptop on a boat where ill have limited power so battery life is a big deal for me.Would i have to underclock the cpu and gpu to get over 4 hours?I dont mind if i do as long as i can watch tv or movies.

Yes, you would need RivaTuner to underclock your gpu, and then Notebook Hardware Control to make your cpu lean towards battery life. You probly also have to dimm, the screen uses the most power.
