I have just about decided to go with the Zepto 6625WD (the apparently amazing screen sold it for me...). However, I have a friend who has an un-needed copy of Vista Ultimate (64 bit version) and he has offered to sell it to me cheaplyso in other words I would like to save a bit of cash and choose the "no OS" option.
However, I have no experience in installing an operating system. Is there anything more to it than sticking in the CD and following the instructions? And would zepto provide me with the necessary drivers etc. for all the components or do you think I would have to find them all myself?
Sorry if I'm asking silly questions and thankyou for your help!

Buy it from your friend
You put in the DVD and Windows will install automatically!
You can find the needed drivers at the ftp of Zepto, and that's it
It is as easy as baking a applepie!
Footnote: 32 bit will work more stable than 64 bit Vista -
Thanks! I'll be able to spend more $$$ on good laptop and less on bad Microsoft software!
When you say 32 will be more stable than 64 bit, is that a general observation or is there something specifically bad about zepto + 64bit vista? -
64 bit also allows you to get more RAM
Isnt the limit of 32 2GB? -
no the limit of 32bit is about 3.1 gig
-
The 64 bit problems are coming when you using 'exotic software'
And I have to say that nowadays for the most programs there are 64 bit drivers/ support!
So I will take the 'risk' -
Well, I have the 6625WD with 4 gigs RAM and Vista Ultimate 64bit.
Its working like a charm! -
I agree 64bits, works nice!
I havent had any trouble what so ever, sp1 of vista is
going to be quite intresting though. -
I wasn't talking about Zepto problems!
I was talking about problems with software and so on
installing OS on Zepto 6625
