is the 6224 and 6324 supposed to differ in price and spec options?

As much issues with updates and missleading information there has been on your websites I thought I'd ask here. On Zepto.se the 6324 is currently about 10% more expensive when its speced the same as 6224, the 6324 also has less alternatives, in memory for example you get a lot more options for the 6224, the upgrades are also cheaper there? Isnt these 2 the exact same machine with the exact same hardware just different colors, are they supposed to differ like this? Or are the site just not up to date yet?

Any help is appreciated.

 

It's just the color as far as I'm aware...

Anyone else knows if price is supposed to be the same for both models when specced the same way? Maybe someone from zepto can answer?

The price should be the same on the 6224 and 6324 because they are the same barebones in a different colour. The prices may differ slightly if say once come with a 60 GB and one with 80 GB, if the configurations are 100% the same it should be identical.

 

That is not the case on Zepto Sweden's site, shall I notify their support or will you do that?

In the German shop the prices are the same but the 6324W has less options.

It actually looks pretty good with the black keyboard, but does look best with the white keyboard.

just a quick question, I configured up 2 Zeptos a 6224W and a 6324W with the same details, I noticed that there is "Environment Fee" listed on the 6224 but not the 6324. Can anyone tell me what that is?

I believe that it's some kind of a recycling tax, 'coz likely there are, for example, some "toxic" metals in all laptops. (being ROHS though) Those taxes are law-enforced IMO. The customer pays them prior getting the product, or at the same time when he receives the product. The fee ain't usually mentioned in product details.

Reminds me of those copyright fees of blank CD / DVD's.. *sigh*

Zepto, the UK website has not been updated with the option for the 2.00 GHz Intel® Core™2 Duo T7300 800MHz.

Can you also confirm if the 160 GB 7200 rpm harddrive will be available as an option on the 6624 in the near future.

 

No that just wouldnt make sense as its the white one thats more expensive. Although I wouldnt mind getting a environment rebate!

 

I set up what I thought were identical specs (see previous links tho not sure my config will show up in the link) and the white one came in roughly £100 cheaper.. can't work out why, I get the feeling I'm missing something obvious lol

 

must be different on different zepto sites then cause I just tried again and the 6324 came out about 1500kr more expensive (~£110). Thats on zepto sweden which btw still hasnt been updated, both models have the environmental fee listed but not the exact same hardware alternatives, guessing the 6324 comes with 1x2gb ram where the 6224 I speced 2x1024, thus some of the price difference.

 

I just spotted that on the UK site I'd specced 2x1gb (667) for the 6324 but there's only a 1x2gb (original Zepto) option for the 6224.. seems the opposite way round to yours! I think I'll give them a call to run through it..

 

yeah, already got that forwarded to zepto sweden thanks to Iann (ZeptoUK), so hopefully they'll at least update the swedish site soon.

The 6224 turned out okay, but the "value" 6324 is a heckuva deal!

 

Hey, Yes just putting the 2.0GHZ back on now. The 160 GB 7200 Drive will be available mid july and a 200 GB 7200 as well

 

I will have a look and change this. We want to give customers as much choice as possible and appreicate your feedback on this matter.

 

Please notify zepto sweden about this as well, its the 6324 thats lacking options. I didnt mention specifically what model and what parts it was missing in my email but under memories the 6224 has many more options than the 6324.

The price difference still havent been fixed. The cpu's are back up now though! For some reason the 7500 is available for 6324 but not for 6224.

 

I'd been wondering that myself.. I can't make my mind up! Has anyone got a 6324 with a black keyboard yet? Are there any photos about which shows the black keyboard option?

If you are waiting to order and cant because the site is not updated then you should call them. Tell them the configuration you want and how much it costs for the 6224W. I think they will give you the same price for the 6324W if you ask.

 

I'm not in a rush, waiting for a few reviews and maybe hdmi, just think its propriate they get their site in order for other customers than me as well.
