okay like the title says, I'm looking at getting one soon but have never really heard of zepto. A quick bit of searching brought me here, to a site which has quite few horror stories of overheats and other problems.
The thing is, it's usually only the people with problems that are noticable, and if I listened to just the forum horror stories I'd know that 100% of Xbox's don't work either.
So.... has anyone got a 6615 that didn't have bad memory/dvd drive/3rd party customer services?

I think that there are many happy owners in the whole world, but just like you said, ppl tend to join forums like this often 'coz they have some problem with their product.
Alas, if you're looking at 6615W, i suggest you wait unti May, when Zepto releases it's successor, the 6625W (other threads contain info about it). It would be much better investment regarding future. That is, if you're willing to wait for couple of months. -
I have a 6615 and i am a very happy camper.
Its been going strong since september. With nothing but minor problems (like a bad display driver for xp that i shouldnt have installed)
I run it with Vista Ultimate at the moment, and i like it allot. I switch off the auro interface when i play games.
Its the best hardware investment i have ever made.
If you are looking at the 6615 and considering it as your next laptop, then i would do what Thorn advised. Wait until Zepto releases the 6625W.
It will be Vista Certified (i assume) with a DX10 gfx chip. And it will be a better longterm investment.
Cheers mate, -
Hmm, it's the waiting for a couple of months thats going to be the hard part. And so far there is no prices on the new models, I have a bad feeling that even setting it up near the specs I set this 6615 to is going to put it over £1000 :/

I've had my 6615 since last November (2ghz CPU with 2gb Ram & 100gb 7200 Sata HD) and on the whole it's been absolutely fantastic. I'm not a gamer though, so can't tell you what it performs like under such heavy loads as WoW etc, but i do use it for music production & so far it's been sterling. Indeed, so much so, that using the freely available ASIO4ALL drivers, i'm now able to run pretty much all of the progs that i use (The main one being Cubase) with a low latency. The quality of the soundcard (Realtek) is nothing short of amazing as well, so no need for me to use external boxes & stuff.... which is a real boon!
There's nothing that i dislike about it at all..... everything works perfectly, and i'm running it as a dual boot system with XP Pro & also the latest version of Ubuntu (Feisty Fawn Beta) which is (IMHO) the BEST Ubuntu yet.
All the drivers work well in Both OS's (Even nVidia) and the screen at 1680x1050 is just fantastic.
The only problems i have ever had (If you can call them that) have been the odd Blue Screen crash. I'm not sure why this happens & there doesn't seem to be any repeatable pattern to it, but it just seems to happen now & again (very infrequently). After it's re-booted, everything is as normal.
Anyway, to finish, i can only echo what the others here have said.... if you can wait, then got for the latest model due out in May..... if not, then the 6615 is definitely worth the price. -
I seem to be the person posting on every thread how I've had no real problems at all. And I do game too.

lol well it's not the case of reliability now, now it's a case of how much a 6625 could be. or if 6615s would drop in price when the 6625 is released...

Im guide interested in the 6625 also as 14" gaming notebooks in the UK are non-existant. -
looking at 6615wd
