Please, write how you flashed back, I almost killed it when tried. Wasn’t responding at all, the after disassembly it suddenly recovered. Thanks god, I have to give this laptop to another person tomorrow ant would be real problem with a broken DVD.

I had exactly the same problem, but I flashed it to the latest firmware GS09 I think, and It's much better. Depending on your initial firmware, you might have to ''hack'' your dvd-writer to accept the update.

Yop, I have GS09 now as well, but I wanted to flash back to original (GSL1), cause I didn't spotted any improvements. Just this noise bug when all file and folders are displayed as an internet files. Do you have the same to?

I don't have this problem, but It might be related to your files associations, and not the dvd-writer maybe?

Well, for example in Daemon Tools virtual drive files shown as usual, unless the problem is in Intel chipset drivers, it's drive.

I would suggest contacting Liteon on this matter, but I remember I contacted them once about my drive was burning defective dvd all the time, but they told me to contact my reseller...

I guess you could contact them, just make sure you have one of their firmware, I had another, and they said they couln't help.

Ok, but I would like to try original GSL1 first, I don't remember the matter like that with it, have to make sure it's not the firmware’s fault.
One way or another the laptop is gone for 5 month now.
