i recently purchased a 6214w around 3 weeks ago as my first ever notebook and was extremely please with it! until i tried loading battlefield 2 onto it...installation was fine, but patching was a problem. after every patch i tried, i kept getting a patching failed problem. someone wrote about how memory issues can cause this, and how he found numerous mem errors with memtest86+. so i fired it up and what do you know, ive got memory issues! within an hour of testing i have over 5000 errors, all at or around the 696.x MB sector (so the first dimm?)

so i was just wondering what my next step should be...i cannot return the laptop because i need it everyday for work but i dont want the memory issues to be ignored, what would you suggest?

    the scalable options are below:

    Intel Core 2 Duo 2.16GHz
    2GB 667 RAM
    100GB 7200rpm HD

At any rate, talk to someone at Zepto before doing anything.

They (or you) may suggest that you yourself isolate the faulty memory module. You could for example try running the same test for each single module by itself, or they may have some preferred software and/or procedures they trust to give accurate results. If ok with them, and you can produce a clear result, then presumably you can just ship that faulty piece back.

I wouldn't think it would void your warranty, but it gives a better impression. You may be quite competent of handling electronics, but if you have to go through some officeclerk at a helpdesk, then you will just appear as someone messing with your computer.

Try send him(mjk) a private message.
