just did a config on the same specs on the aussie site today cos i woz bored, and...its like 25bucks cheaper?
same config as me order, and i mean exactly the same.
whats going on!..not that im complaining![]()
-
Alot of people have complained about this in the german forum too. Prices keep droping. For some configs, that people ordered on the first day, it is as much at 75€.
I think now that the G1s has shown how much faster a 8600M GT with GDDR3 is all prices should dropJust wishfull thinking I know.
-
mm so g1s is 256mb, but ddr3
and zepto is 512mb, ddr2?
whats ddr do...hehe soz dumbass at this kinda thing -
Dance Dance Revolution ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dance_Dance_Revolution).
In the Zepto you get the older version, 2, but with 512 songs whereas in the GS you get the newer (faster) one but with half the songs (256)
Its actually to do with the speed of the memory on the graphics card I believe, check it out here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ddr3
S.h.2001 -
The G1s scores 4700 3dMarks06 at 1024x768 and the Zepto 3800 at the same resolution. CPU and Ram both the same.
The Vram (graphics card memory) is just alot faster with GDDR3 because it runs at 700mhz and the Zeptos GDDR2 only at 400mhz. The 256 and 512mb doesnt make alot of differance right now. Need to see and wait for real game benchmarks before we know if Zepto can gain anyhing from having more vram. -
kk coool fanks..ah decisions decisions
-
So wait, do all the new G1s machines have DDR3 vram?
-
I think there is only one model of the G1s so yes. Check the Asus forum for details.
-
Wasn't it just the reference versions of the notebooks that were using DDR2 and had glossy screens? I heard once the final versions shipped they would have DDR3 and matte finishes.
edit: nm just found where it was confirmed it won't have ddr3. -
thats intresting, now we got some competition!
will have to check the g1 out, anyone know what ports its vid card has? -
The G1s has:
- 1 x VGA (15 pin D-SUB)
- 1 x HDMI
- 1 x e-SATA
- 1 x Express-Card Slot
- 4 x USB 2.0
- 1 x Fire-Wire (IEEE 1394)
- 1 x TV-Out
- 1 x Line-Out (S/PDIF)
- 1 x Mic-Audio-In
- 1 x 4in1 Card Reader (SD,MMC,MS,MSP)
There is alot of info in the Asus forum. -
Is the G1 available in England?
What is the price expected to be like compared with the 6625? -
I dont know about England. Maybe not yet but I am sure it will be out soon. In Germany it costs 1649€ with T7500 (2,2ghz) 2gb RAM and 160gb HDD and Windows Vista Home Premium. Also comes with a backpack and gaming mouse (logitech G5 I think). The bad thing is that there is only one model and i want to spend about 1400€. A T7300 is enough for me and if I buy the 2GB and harddisk aftermarket I can stay under 1350€ with the 6224W.
-
Right, I looked on the website and there was a G1 with a 7700, so will this new one have a 6800 but with a newer type of RAM? Is this RAM or VRAM?
Also do you know if it has an inbuilt TV tuner?
I think I'd want to go with the Zepto just because I like their system configuration option, and that processor is probably too muc. Also I guess I'd rather go for a 100GB 7200rpm than the (presumably) 5400rpm 160GB. -
Thank you wave. Both have their cons and pros but G1 is available NOW with hdmi.
Gonna have to put some thought into this, dont even know what the asus looks like, but only heard good things about them.
/me heads to asus forum -
The G1s doesnt have an option for a TV tuner I think. Can get a PCMCIA one or USB but not internal. -
Hm, so what is the likelihood of the 6625 being fitted with GDDR3 VRAM in the future? Or would it not be compatible with the mobo that they use at the moment?
I will probably go for the 6625 because I want a TV Tuner and it also has a webcam which I am not sure if the G1 will have. Also I am not overconcerned with getting the very best gaming performance, I just want to have something future-proofish. -
ya g1s got same, 1.3 megapixel cam.
as for tv tuner, they any good? i've read even the best has poor/no reception if you dont use it with yoru aerial ...
new prices?
