    hello
my ocz dual ati 3870 barebone just arrived. According to manual booklet, i installed SATA hdd, ram ddr3 pc3-8500, and carefully installed cpu p8400 just hold the edge avoding static from cpu pins and cpu heatsink. And battery and ac adapter pluged in. Then, hit power button and THE MOTHERBOARD HAD POWER BUT NOTHING SHOWED ON THE SCREEN ( completely black) i wonder because of the cable between the screen and video card or something ? are we supposed to do something with lcd screen cable when the barebone system just arrives? huh i think the system was sent defective.

Ok. try it with out the battery and press f2 like crazy to see if you hear a loud beep. and see if you can get into the bios.

connect it to an external moniter to see if you see anything.

did you turn the cpu set screw when you installed it or just put the heatsink on?

i did pressed f2 repeatedly but nothing. I turned the socket screw making sure the socket holds the cpu tight, and then plugged the little wire of the combo heatsink-fan to the motherboard connector and during the process, the cpu was held by the the edge avoiding to touch eather cpu pins or socket pins. The cpu is working when it was put back to where it belongs to. For those of you having the same my barebone, is the lcd screen supposed to show something even if the f2 isn't hit repeatedly, after component installed ? i appreciate for your replies thank you zfactor and donahh

What brand memory are you using? We have seen some brands cause no boot/no display.

Also try 1 module at a time and see if it boots.
