lately my touchpad buttons are making this annoying ring noise whenever i put the notebook down or tap it. something like a spring is vibrating in there and its driving me nuts. does anyone know how to open up this notebook so i can access the touchpad/button parts and see whats loose and try to stop this. this makes the notebook seem so poorly built. thanks

A bit further thought, you have to disassemble all the way till the screen comes off, and then just unscrew 14 or something screws on the bottom and you'll have your panel in the hand. :)
Just in case, the flat cables are fixed in slots that are locked by little gray locks on the end, just pull it up and the cable will sly out easily. I managed to take my HEL80 apart one time without doing this, such a pain. :D

The heat sensitive keys are covered by a plastic plate, just take something sharp and lift it.

    It's the easiest part. ;)
I recommend to do series of photos to put things together just in case, though without taking out the MoBo it's difficult to mass things up. :)
Don't worry you'll do it with our eye closed after couple of times. ;)

Sorry pal, did I understand you well, are you talking about the heat sensitive buttons, the mousepad or the keyboard?

Ahhh, is much easier when we properly define the issue, I thought you were talking about the heat sensitive keys. Then, I would say is much harder to work on this item, you really have to open the whole shell.

I personally don't use the mousepad, I actually hate it because any little touch on it as you are using the KB, it would do things you don't want, so I disabled it.

Now, regarding the noise, I have a similar noise coming from the space bar, see if that's the source of your noise, then there is nothing you can do but to replace the KB.

I know its not coming from te keyboard at all. it appears that the mouspad buttons are loose or something. when i put my fingers over the 2 buttons, then tap or put the notebook down, there is no noise. however, when i just tap the mouspad as usual or put the notebook down, it has that noise again. can you try and tap your fingers around the mousepad and see if you hear anything? could be just me. but i dont remember hearing this for the first few months i had this notebook.

Yes I do, the noise is like a spring type, and I think it comes from this cheap KB that I deeply hate.

Huh? What precisely is the "mousepad" you are talking about? In my neck of the woods a mousepad is a little square rubber pad you place beside the computer to provide a nice working surface for your mouse.

Are you talking about the touchpad?
