Read this posted in the general gaming area:

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=215417

Im beginning to be quite concerned wether this issue is really related to drivers, I personally havnt thought so for a long time.

Reason? well people without the problems can use ANY driver without problems (only changes in performance due to driver version).

People with the problem cant use any driver at all without having this issue. Drivers doesnt change anything for me buttom line.

Now this is the 2nd or 3rd time ive read about people getting thier gpu issues fixed by a BIOS update. First it was toshiba and now the Sager.

I cant stop thinking.. maybe this issue really is a Zepto problem?

I know there might be company secrets and all, but id like to see Zepto share how they are testing and problem solving this issue so we as a community can help to fix this REALLY annoying problem once and for all.

    Comments zepto?

    Thanks.

For long time I was only reading all topics relating to the stuttering issue. I really appreciate your and blackbird efforts to find the solution to the stuttering problem. I have tried all drivers and settings and there is no improvement. I am really fed up with it and that I paid hard earned money to buy Zepto Znote 6224W and I can not fully enjoy my games.

From what I have read here and at other forums Zepto as a manufacturer is responsible for delivery drivers and BIOS to make sure their products have 100% functionality. So my idea is maybe we should check how many of us Zepto owners have this problem and maybe then when Zepto would see that it is not only you but many others they would do something about it. Let unite and set a community to deal with Zepto.

Once again thanks for all your hard work guys.

I can tell you as much as we are looking into this issue at the moment, but that's basically all I can say at the moment.

I dont know if such things are possible. But maybe Zepto could make contact to either Toshiba or Compal who reacently fixed this issue? Just a thought...

I just want to inform people that the new 169.61 are fast as hell! have good visuals and good tvout. But they dont change anything for the stuttering issue.

But to be honest I dont blame the drivers. I simply do not belive the drivers really has anything to do with this issue any more... maybe they had back 1½ year ago when the first 8800 problems came up but now I think it is something else.

It wouldnt make any sence why people are having this issue fixed by bios update if it had anything to do with drivers.

So what im saying is, Zepto.. we are waiting and counting on you.

I will just confirm that these drivers works great - both in 3DMark06 and Crysis - using Vista 32bit.
An error do however occur, if you try to view the system information in the Nvidia controlpanel.

    Thanks for testing 'em Thomas.

Hi, I thought you may be interested in this. I have not been suffering from any stuttering issues, but have had problems running games at the resolution I like. I've just installed the 173.16 drivers from laptopvideo2go and everything is much better. I have even noticed a huge drop in temperature down from 100C to 87C when gaming for a while (about 2hrs solid). I hope these help you guys out. I've been reading these threads regarding stuttering and performance issues, waiting to see if Zepto could come up with any solutions that actually work for you and praying that I do not fall prey to this issue.

I was running the 167.59 drivers from Zepto. They are good, but the temps seem too high compared to this new driver.
I am running the latest bios for the 6324W (Z14N006).
I have not changed the bios in my graphics card as it is way to risky for my liking.

No I am running Vista 32bit. I made a mistake with the driver naming, it should be 173.65. Sorry for the confusion.

I know, but I have modified the bios on desktop graphics cards and on my old X1400 in a dell laptop before. I have also heard of people taking the bios from a toshiba laptop card and squirting it into a sony laptop card. I'm not about to go messing about with it as it's getting more device specific (IC's used etc) in the newer cards.

I don't know, I guess it's because Toshiba seems to do more work making their laptops work properly (or the fact that it's easier to get a toshiba laptop graphics card bios than many others).

Well.. Toshiba just did fix their stuttering issues by BIOS so... i guess if the card would eat it.. its not so silly afterall.

Well I dont see a possibility to do that as the BIOS for both are in the same program, physically. Thats why its impossible to change the GFX card even if its physically possible to do it
