i don't have a lot of laptop experience, but i can say it is more portable than the dell 1520, less portable than an hp dv6500. i would say it is average size/thickness for a mid-size/desktop replacement laptop. it is medium weight also- not the lightest in its class, not the heaviest.

Quick note, top of Sager NP2090 is a glossy, shiny finish. Much like an iPod, it is easily susceptible to scratches, fingerprints, and dust. I'm kind of wary of carrying it around more than necessary so it mostly sits on my desk. A laptop skin or sleeve would probably help.

Great laptop, would definitely recommend it. Look into the WSXGA+ 1680x1050, it's beautiful. :)

A bit OT - where can we find skins for it? I'd love to protect that top.

Anyways, I thought the size was perfect for the type of laptop it was meant to be - a small gaming laptop. I haven't seen anything smaller with a 8600GT at this price point. I think I saw a 14.1 wide screen with it, but it was at a higher price point.

The batter does stick out a bit (if you go for the 9-cell), so make sure you have a bag that will accomodate it. Paired with RMClock (undervolt the CPU) and the 9-cell, and the laptop does last uncharacteristically long for a gaming laptop (for surfing, typing, etc). I wasn't timing it or anything, but it felt like 4-5 hours for me.
