are the hard drives used ssd or msata?

    or something else?

what is the capacity of a ct 14? is a ct 15 different?

does it have space for both a ssd and msata? can it be upgraded?

Far as I know it's a standard mSata with no other hdd slot. Should be upgradable if you want to spend an extra 30-50% just on the ssd itself over the price of the laptop.
I don't know what you mean by the 'capacity' of the laptop. Number of HDD slots/bays, or what?
CT15 supposedly has the same specs as the 14 except a larger screen.
Doesn't seem to be anything to get excited about.

    i ended up getting a ct14 refurb for 400 from newegg.com

the hard drive is a toshiba pci -e msata drive. extremely fast expensive to upgrade considering the start up cost of the laptop.

overall extremely happy with the quality of the laptop size screen battery life etc all super excellent'

the touch pad is retarded never seen one like this before and im sure i never will again.

had a quick online decision to make and it seemed like the best fit for the money.

if you were to find one of these models with the 256 gb pci e msata drives the drive itself goes for 350$ on ebay all day

ive seen them for more in the 600$ range on ebay more ct15s. ips fhd screen with a 256 gm msata and an i7? cant beat that with a stick. and the laptop itself is so nice.

the laptop is dead silent the majority of the time. but when the fan kicks on it is high pitched and annoying.

i wanted to know if it was mine or if its a common problem. i have read in other threads that it is an issue in other ct14's and other models as well.

i cant hear the fan when its going unless i put my ear near it no high pitch

the oem for this laptop is quanta which is the worlds largest notebook manufacturer and seems to make almost all of the metal body laptops on the market.

same as macbook air and pro

Might be a bad or dirty fan? It's a refurb so it's possible.

But I have seen posts with this issue on new ones.

The processor is running at around 50 degrees Celsius, and the fan gets triggered at 54+.

it might be but mine doesnt have that problem its close to silent.

the motherboard is made by quanta and the lcd is made by lg.

not vizio or their exclusive oem.

it basically has nothing to do with vizio really its a nice pc macbook derivative made by macbook oems. sort of breaking the name out there or something.

i love the unibody i might end up getting a cn 15 also if they ever get dirt cheap on the market.

although im super impressed with the gaming ability of just the i3 and hd 4000 graphics. plays elemental enchantress and starcraft 3 at playable frames in native resolution.

basically i love it except for the touchpad. if not for the touchpad it would be an A. the touchpad is some k mart type thing made to look like a macbook touchpad yet have physical left and right buttons in the pad. just stupid are you touching the pad or the button?

i use mine daily to show customers their internet connection and no one can use it functionally

almost universal bad reviews of the touchpad.

I use a USB mouse. The pad is pretty bad.

Glad u dont hear the fan, it's pretty annoying. Going to call about it tomorrow and see what, if anything can be done.
