    Hi,

I am having random freezing problem with my Zepto Hydra Laptop,

I have totally no idea where to look.

When it freezes, everything literally freezes totally to the point that even the event viewer does not log anything at all.

Everything on the laptop just freezes for no reason.

Sometimes when I play games it does not freeze.

Then when I surf the internet, it freezes.

I have tried SiSoft Sandra memory benchmarking and it passes this ...

I have also tried memtest and it also passes this ...

Someone on the clevo sager thread mentioned something similar to this problem ... but I have downloaded the drivers and installed them on my hydra and still it happens ...

    Can someone please advice ???

    Thank you and Regards

    Falling Cat

Can you give us some specifics like OS, RAM, etc? Does hitting CTRL-ALT-DELETE help?

    Hi there,

Thank you for your reply to my thread.

I am using Windows Vista Ultimate with SP1 installed

    I have 2 gig of ram DDR3

no, hitting ctrl-alt-del does not do anything.

If I remove my razer copperhead mouse from the usb slot and re-insert it back into the system, the mouse does not initialize at all ... possibly meaning that the whole system has hung for good ...

I have tried pressing all buttons and nothing works ...

sometimes the spinning windows cursor would just freeze still ... not moving at all ...

There is literally nothing at all to be found in the Vista Event Viewer logs ...

    Warm Regards

    Falling Cat

Try with leaving the Razer mouse unplugged and using the touchpad and see if it still freezes. Sometimes pheripherals can cause this kind of behaviour

Also try disabling UAC. I am still looking around. It seems a common problem(another reason I hate Vista) but related to different solutions and hardware. Disabling UAC comes up quite often as the cure.

Here's what I have found so far:

"I've found two things you can do that might help the random crashes (but they still won't make your laptop much good for gaming).

    1. Make sure you have the latest driver for your Nvidia graphics card.

    2. Restart the computer while pressing F10 and page over to your video card settings increase the memory it's using from 64 to 128mb. Not sure how this is possible since the card spec is for 64mb...but I changed the setting anyway

I just found out about these options yesterday ....so don't know for sure if it will help make my system any more stable, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed and no crashes so far today."

"Try running System Recovery, that always seems to work."

These seem to be the recurring answers along with contacting Support and/or returning the product.

Whoow thank you Sprint! It's allways off by me because of the popups, but this is much nicer!
