I would've just posted this in the 'Vista Ultimate..OEM Certificate.?' thread, but that's been closed...

So about a year ago, I ordered my IFL90 with Vista Business 64 pre-installed from PNB. As it turned out, some software I need for work just doesn't run under 64-bit Vista, so I wiped it, and put XP-Professional on instead.

Am I completely stuck with this unused Vista license? I was under the impression (I never 'activated' it -- found out right away that Vista was going to be unusable for my purposes) that I could put it on most any other computer if I wanted, provided it matched the specs for Vista-64. Am nearing the point where I might be buying another computer, and was figuring I could save some money by putting this Vista 64 on it. Is it really tied to the BIOS (this might be better directed directly to PNB, but figured I'd ask here first)?

If it was closed, than it was for good reason, and that should have given a clue as to whether to post this or not.
Since it's an OEM, it's tied your computer (legally), so you cannot (legally) use it on another pc.

I could be wrong, and it is best to ask PNB, but as far as I know, the license is tied to the machine, so you cannot use it on any other machine, even if you have never activate it. As long as it is installed, since it is OEM license, it is just tied to that machine.

OEM licenses are tied to the machine it came with, you cannot transfer it.
