the DVD drive reads +R media in my 6130.

    Perhaps check the burn settings?

I suggest trying a different brand, I've had luck when I've changed the brand of DVD I used back in the days when I had an older presario.

I'd second that suggestion to try a different media. I've run into similar issues on desktops.

Media quality varies greatly. What it says on the box does not does not indcate quality or who makes it. You can use DVD Identifier to find out who makes the disc and look them up on VideoHelp.com. Taiyo Yuden, Mitsubishi Chemical, RicohJapan, Sony and TDK are amongst the better ones. Good Luck.
