Instead of getting a cd from averatec, just download the drivers from the link and put them on a usb stick, or burn them yourself to cd, or can't you do that?

We all know the quotes: "Hindsight is usually 20/20." "It wasn't planned to fail, rather it was a failure to plan."
Folks, before you decide to wipe any hard drive-
#1- make sure you have a valid installation media and needed registration information.
#2- make sure you have ALL the driver installation files on hand and ready to go ... this goes TRIPLE for portable devices because generic drivers on the installation media often do not exist or won't work.
#3- make sure you have valid installation files for any applications you wish to reinstall and needed registration information.
#4- Have backups of all data you wish to restore
#5- Make sure you have copies of all userIDs & passwords for network (local and Internet) access that you will need to restore.
...and if I have learned anything over 30 years of IT consulting, you forgot to get copies of something, maybe multiple somethings... never move forward without the ability to move backward, in this case that means...
#6- Take an image of the hard drive (True Image, Ghost, whatever) before you start. Maybe even better - take out the old hard drive and start with a brand new drive. These days you can often replace an existing drive with something both bigger and faster for very little money.
