I'm getting tired of the high temperatures, and the bogged down game play that comes from it... I'm going to try to redo the thermal pasting on the cpu and gpu... has anyone tried it on the JHL90?

Are there any good threads on this, a tutorial or just someone documenting how they did it on their JHL90, or any other notebook?

Also, I heard some time ago that arctic silver 5 isn't the best thermal paste anymore... but I forget what is the best thermal paste. Any opinions on this?

Did you try first to clean the vents? It is possible that the result will not make a big difference as you might think. BTW. what are your temps? Are they any higher than when it was new?

well, it was always high, but I do think that it got hotter...

The top temp on graphics card I've seen is 104C. It usually ranges at high 90's, ~97 after a while of gaming. I think when I bought it new, it usually ranged around ~93.

It is known to be a hot computer. I got a cooler, and it does make a difference in the idle temp, not much on the gaming temp though.

I'll try air blowing the vents.

I would be much better if you could open it and clean the vents. Unless you'll void the warranty then.

That's strange. My temps have always been pretty amazing...they went up a bit at one point so I cleaned out my vents and it dropped right back down.
