My zepto 6625wd is getting way to hot and shutting down as soon as I open a cpu demanding task like flash etc. now that i've removed the keybord it seems to stay alot cooler (maybe not so strange since there's more airflow). Anyway it got me thinking that airflow is the culprit here.

So to my question, shouldn't there be airvents beneath the fan to get the cold air directly to the fan?? there is just solid plastics there!!

So if any 6625wd owner would care to check their computer I would greatly appreciate the effort!

    Best regards
    Adam

Do you have any vents on the rear of your laptop?. I have the 6324W. It too has little ventilation on the rear but the idea is to draw air across the motherboard to help cool it. The keyboard is also ventilated. One thing is for sure with these types of laptop, the heatsink is pathetic, they clog up with dust and muck very easily. Try removing the GPU heatsink, and then cleaning out the CPU heatsink. When you put the GPU heatsink back on make sure you use good thermal paste (Arctic Silver etc) and apply it correctly.

HI there, i had this problem for a while but since buying a laptop cooler which goes underneath, this problem has stopped. But i also have no vent beneath the fan. I find hard wood solid tables dont help either.

the 6625WD uses the heatsink + metallic board in contact with aluminium alloy base of the keyboard to dissipate heat.

it sucks air from top of the keyboard, and pushes it out to the left.

i've recently taken mine apart completely, and cleaned everything and reapplied the thermal grease.

it now idles at 42 degrees Celsius for cpu and 50 for GPU.

i do find covering up the hole above the fan helped by couple of degrees. As air will have to travel from rear of the dvdrw drive all the way past the gpu.
