I've got a tracking number! Muahahah! It's supposed to arrive on Wednesday... now to see if I can install a system on it by Wednesday night, in time for a LAN party...

Edit: I'll test it with Kubuntu 6.06 and Windows XP, I'm also going to see what I can do for a full review of it. Maybe even throw in some overclocking numbers... everyone has those HEL-80's, it's time for the HGL-30 to get some respect ;)

Oh, wait... you said YOU know you are. Never mind... hehe. But yes, I'm excited. I need to see if I can get it up and into game-playing form before tomorrow night so I can show 'er off.

Took me approximatly 3 hours to get all my stuff installed.. but I sorta tend to have portable applications and personal file systems since I'm already always working with multiple OS's and machines...

I skipped the installers for the drivers though, and just told it to automagically find them all from the ini's on the cd... (wanted to avoid junk) only stuff I installed normally were the touchpad and the finger scanner...

yeah, same boat here. I'm not anticipating too much time to get it up and running. Only problem is getting the machine sooner rather than later :p I'm hoping that it arrives in the next couple hours here so I can partition and install Windows + C&C:Generals at minimum. I can do the rest of the setup later, I just want the games running for tonight ;)

Well crap. It seems that the laptop I got wasn't the laptop I ordered. So I've got an HEL80 sitting here that're the specs I wanted in the HGL-30. And it's not even the high-res screen HEL80.

    *sigh*

Guess I won't be gaming on it tonight. PowerNotebooks is taking care of it, but I was really looking forward to having that machine now.

One out of a xxxx we mess it up...and it had to happen to you Pitabred...I am so sorry.

We are paying for Next Day Air both ways to make this right, and our goal is to have the PowerPro L 8:14 in your hands by Saturday if at all possible, but if not Saturday it will be there by Monday at the very latest.

    Can you forgive us?

Hehe. Yeah. No cookie, no forgiveness ;) It's ok. I was hoping to show it off tonight when I was gaming with my friends, but I suppose this will give me more time to adequately configure it and all. I'm not too bothered, I know that kind of thing happens, and I am quite impressed with how PowerNotebooks has handled it. Kudos for that. All will be right when I finally have the darn machine in my hot little hands, though.... heheh

Where it went? I sent it to where they told me to. Should be fine. I opened the box, but hopefully that shouldn't matter too much. Needed to make sure it wasn't really my machine hiding in the wrong packaging.

Update: The computer is apparently at my house, and sitting inside ;) UPS apparently didn't see fit to require a signature, and they left it on the porch, so fortunately my girlfriend was nearby and could take a quick break to put it inside. Donald, you might want to see if you can get that signature image or check on that.

But props to PowerNotebooks for their quick service, and fixing this so fast :) I never meant to imply that their service was less than stellar or anything, I was just whining because I wanted my new toy and didn't get it... heh.

So anyway, I'll let you all know how things work out once I get software and stuff on it. Run some benchmarks, etc. But a big thanks to PowerNotebooks for being so open on their communication, and I highly recommend doing business with them :)

    UPS is horrible at that.
When newegg switched to that without me knowing, I was pretty upset to see 2k worth of computer parts sitting outside my house for a few hours. I email newegg and got free next day shipping on next order and they sent me a dvd case and tshirt.

    but congrats
    and enjoy
    take pics!

I'm posting this from the new laptop ;) It's everything I dreamed it could be... heheh. I am noticing the keyboard flex a bit... I may have to fix that with a shim or something. But I'm very happy with it. Thanks again for all the work that the people at PowerNotebooks put into making it right and getting it to me :) I'll post pix, review, etc. sometime this weekend probably.

I'm glad too. Hope UPS doesn't pull something like that to me when I order my laptop or I will be severly pissed. They are usually really good about it for me though.
