    all i can say is this is a great notebook. VERY well built dare i say maybe even better than the clevo 5791. she got the wsxga matte screen with it and i have to honestly say it is stunning. MUCH MUCH better so far than any dell or either of the 5791's i have had so far. it is very bright with great color and contrast its a lg screen. i LOVE IT and i do regret not getting the matte on the 5791 now. i didnt think id like the matte but yeah .. its sweet. ill post more after i use it for a few days she is having me go through it and set it up to make sure its rock solid for her before she goes back home.. great system here though

    hehe... killer. i just pulled the trigger on one of these, also from zipzoomfly-

    T7500
    1 gig ram
    60 gig 5400 HD
    4965 wireless card
    no os
    $ 1014

    sweet. i also ordered 2 gigs of ram and a 160 gig hitachi from newegg. should be a killer system. with XP pro on it, it should be plenty fast.

    i'm so glad to hear you like the screen. after my dell experience i've got major grainyhypochondria. lol.

    one thing i really dig about the laptop is it plugs in on the side. i won't be bumping the AC cord as much with it there. i have heard the touchpad scrolls up/down on the right side, is that true? man. i can't wait. tell me more!

    I've ordered basically the same system that 000111 ordered, including the extra 2GB SO-DIMM. I already have a 200GB 7200rpm Hitachi hard drive, so I'll use that instead of the 60GB drive.

    000111, most touchpads support scroll regions at the side and bottom of the touchpad if you install the full driver set (from Synaptics, etc).

    hey does any 1 see the bluetooth that you suppose to get? it said on the website fingerprint reader and bluetooth, BTW i think the best deal is to get the showstopper with 7700 and then get a 2gig stick from newegg and the 7k200 HDD from best buy, 1040+75+130

    Also i am looking for the smaller battries, the 6 cell that dont stick out on the back, does any 1 know where they have um?

    ok. so newegg and zipzoomfly are neck and neck! ordered tuesday- both orders should be shipped friday. awesome. i'm psyched! huh. 6 cell battery- maybe zipzoomfly, xoticpc, or powernotebooks.com?

    this is from zzf- says 'yes' to bluetooth and fingerprint reader;
    http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=10006843
    i hope that means it will have them. i'm kinda geeked about the fingerprint reader. just for logon. does your ifl-90 have bluetooth/fingerprint reader, zfactor?

    here's the 6 cell for 65 bucks!

    well. my 2090 is ok. i'm disappointed in- drumroll please- the screen. it is a cmo1520. not as bad as the sec3350 i saw on dell 1520s, but still grainy. sigh. other than that it's a pretty solid machine. i'm cursed to get the current worst screen of any manufacturer, i guess?

    wow really?? did you get the wsxga?? i think you said you did. the one we got is awesome. i mean its a TINY bit grainy but not anywhere near as bad a the sec was. overall i think its a great screen. even my lg i got with me 5791 is not as good that screen does have grain to it.. still not as bad as the sec3350 did

    hehe. yeah- it's a bit grainy, but not nearly as bad as the sec3350. colors are better, and there is less lightbleed, so it's all around better than the dell screen. still grainy, though. i'm cursed!

    Mine has the CMO1520 WSXGA+ panel, too. No more LG panels, apparently.

    There's some light 'grain' if I look closely, but it's not an issue. I've yet to see a laptop LCD panel that doesn't have at least some minor 'grain'-like aspects that were visible upon close inspection. The nearby Dell Kiosk has an e1420(?) with a downright awful screen... like a layer of gauze or dirt over the entire screen. This panel is much, much better than that.

    hehe... too bad you can buy all of the components you want- except for the screen! still at the mercy of the manufacturer when it comes to the screen.

    Well, you could buy whatever 15.4-inch panel you wish off eBay (or from any other vendor, although there seem to be very few such vendors) and install it into your laptop. Then you'd have exactly what you want. But I'm not willing to go to that much trouble...

    hehe. me neither. i meant that we are able to specify most everything else when we purchase the thing. we shouldn't have to do an aftermarket upgrade to get a decent screen, but i've given up. this semi-grainy screen will have to suffice until this laptop craps out. lcd makers of the world- you suck. ;) maybe by 2010
    i can get a non-grainy screen?

    the next laptop that i buy i will just have to SEE before purchasing. even if it increases the cost. booya! hey, skriefal- you digging your 2090?

    My IFL90 is good so far. It feels sturdier than my 'old' Dell E1505, so that's nice. It's also a bit faster, of course. I still prefer the keyboard layout on the E1505 -- bigger shift, enter, & etc keys, and pgup/pgdn/etc at the top of the keyboard rather than on the right side -- but that'll most likely change over the next few weeks as I adapt to the IFL90's keyboard.
