Realize that the Sager NP2090 IS the IFL90, and is generally cheaper than other redistributions. If you're getting the NP2090 then, the best proce I've found is PowerNotebooks.com. Basically the same everywhere, but at PowerNotebooks.com, some of the harddrives are 3Gb/s for the same price.

More options. For example, most places sell the IFL90 with 8600M GT 256mb with the WXGA screen, adn the 8600M GT 512mb only with the WSXGA screen, but the Sager only sells the 512mb on all models. The warranty on the Sager is worse, but comes with both Vista 32-bit and 64-bit DVDs if you buy Vista. Also, the Sgaer has Arctic SIlver 5 cooling compound standard.

Just options, variety, and more sales.

The Sager has different warranty options too.

The Compals that are branded inhouse by the resellers (like the PowerPro branded by PowerNotebooks) typically come with a minimum of 3 years warranty and next business day shipping both ways if shipping is needed for repairs.

The Sager can be bought with a 1-year warranty. Shipping is 3 business days both ways if I remember well. If your situation makes it so that paying for a longer warranty would be a waste then the Sager can save you a nice bit of money. You can also buy an extended warranty on a Sager but I think rather than doing that, you should buy a Compal rebranded by a reseller like PowerNotebooks or XoticPC because of the better shipping they offer. (If you buy the Sager at XoticPC with the minimal warranty, they give you 1-year parts 3-years labor. That is a bit better than other shops because labor is covered for 3 years.)

To give you an example of how warranties can matter... I went with a Sager myself, with a minimal 1-year warranty. First, I'm pretty handy with hardware so I'm not scared by a 1-year warranty. Secondly, all those warranties are domestic and I know for sure I'll be spending the 2nd year of a 3-year warranty in Asia. So if I went with a 3-year warranty, I'd be paying for an extension I would not be able to use for half of the 2 additional years.
