i previously posted a thread about my laptop making beeping sounds. now it whines from time to time, as if there were some interference or something. so far i can bear with it and tolerate the noise... but its been only a month now since i have bought this notebook and im worried that more problems like that will appear and worsen... does anyone have the same problem and how do you deal with it?

Personally.. if it were me... i'd phone the place where I bought it, and pick the techies brain.. if that fails.. get a RMA number and send it back to the shop.

Could be any number of things going wrong. Why take the chance. Its still under warranty isn't it?

What kind of whine are you hearing? I would definitely recommend following Bognostraglum's suggestion--calling your reseller is the best way to start getting this issue corrected.

Why didn't you get the notebook replaced last time it made noise? Or atleast attack the Tech support for your vendor?

    Try disabling your integrated webcam.
    I had the same problem.

i found the source of those strange noises my laptop emits: it comes from the network card, it is more noticeable when i transfer files or use a lot of bandwidth. i don,t know whether its because i'm using a wireless connection though... is it a common problem found in laptops?

Anything running current through it's pathways will generate "noise", but because of the margin of error that exists in hardware manufacturing some people get enough "lower standard parts" that issues like yours arise. The problem is that by itself each component probably passed an 85%-90% quality check "per lot", and when your system was assembled, you got more of the lower end together. Then add the extra human error when assembling that might come into play..

it's strange because under windows vista, the screeching noise is less apparent, but under winxp, it annoys the hell out of me...
