I've only recently started using the integrated mic. I'm having a bit of a rough time with getting it loud enough. Even after I turn on the "mic boost" in windows, it's still a lot quieter than the microphone on my desktop. Is this consistent with anyone else's experience, or is it something I should look into more?

I cant comment on the laptop itself as I dont own one. But I will say built in microphones, most of the time, arent all that good. Ive had some that you have to almost touch to be able to hear anything. Sometime there just put there as a gimic. Having said that, the microphone on my dv2000 picks up everything, it can pick up the television even when a good 4 metres away.

I was having some problems with any mic (integrated and external) with the voice com in my games. I recently upgraded to a newer driver and it fixed the problem.

    Hope that helps!

I have a strange echo that happens if I dont set the volume just right.. it starts quiet, and gets very loud if I continue recording.. kinda a pain, but I will also say that the newer driver helped some..
