Hey all,
I should be recieving my 6625wd today or tomorow at the latest, it will ship without an operating system as I will be putting my copy of vista ultimate on it.
Now I am confused as to which drivers I need to install to get the laptop fully working like it is supposed to, can you help me out.
These were the specs of my laptop
Znote 6625WD
Keyboard Znote 6x15W Black UK
15.4" WSXGA+ 1680x1050 - 6625WD
SAMSUNG COMBO 6xx4w/6xx5WD/2xx5W
6 Cell BAttery
NVIDIA Geforce 8600M GT
2.00 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T7300 800MHz
160GB 7200rpm SATA Harddisk Samsung
2048MB (2x1024) DDR2 667/PC5300 SODIMM. Zepto
Intel Pro/Wireless 4965AGN
And the drivers listed on the zepto site are the following, which one of these should I install ?
Audio
Bluetooth
CIR (what is this for and do i need it)
Cardbus (what is this for and do i need it)
Chipset
FIR (what is this for)
Intel Turbo Memory
LAN
Modem
QL Button (what is this for and do i need it)
TV-Tuner Zepto
Touchpad
VGA
Webcam
Wireless
Also one stupid question lol....how will the graphics card know the screen resolution is 1680x1050, i dont want it to make it some ****ty 1024x768 or any thing like that...
First laptop I am getting and i want it to work like its intended to, hence all the questions
Thanks in advance for your help

Based on my experience with the 6024W:
I think the notebook has an infrared device so you need both CIR = consumer infra-red FIR = fast infra-red to unlock its potential.
The cardbus driver may be need for the ExpressCard slot and it also supports the media (SD card, etc) slot.
The QL button = Quick Launch buttons = short cut keys.
You won't need the TV Tuner driver/software unless your ordered the tuner card.
If you didn't order Turbo Memory then you don't need the Turbo Memory driver. If you did order Turbo Memory then you need to enable AHCI in the BIOS before installing Vista because urbo Memory needs the matrix storage driver.
And the graphics driver reads the display resolution from somewhere (probably the display itself).

thanks, so I should install just the following
Audio
Bluetooth
CIR
Cardbus
Chipset
FIR
Wireless
Webcam
VGA
Touchpad
QL button
Do i need to install LAN and Modem.....i have wireless internet at home so will be using it to connect to the net through wireless
Input from Zepto UK would be greatly appreciated -

You should install the LAN and modem drivers just to get everything neat and tidy. You never know when you may want to use them.
It is normally best to start with the chipset, then the VGA. Then look in Device Manager and see how many yellow exclamation marks are remaining.

Alright, thanks
also what do the chipset drivers do....I have never had to install chipset drivers on a desktop before when installing windows -
I havent installed a single driver on my 6625WD since i got it, the camera gets self-installed when u turn it on first time, wireless works straight away (got Intel AGN card), touchpad allready works, chipset is obviously working so i dont think u need installing any of them, at least to a start, just the QL drivers as they doesnt install when pressed :|.
1680x1050 works perfectly fine on my 6625WD. having aero and such -
