hi, just wondering what the general response of zepto was. A google search didn't really bring up any result, so i was wondering if they're worth the money to a light gamer.

Money, Performance ratio is decent. However they are not without problems, well at least the current models.
Zepto has now left the suppliers they used for the troublesome machines and are now coming up with the NOX A15, which is reasonably priced.
My advice would be to wait till some people get their hands on the A15, post some reviews (should be very soon, 1-3 weeks), then make the purchase if your still interested. -
Well the quality to cost ratio is quite good ; better than most major brands. As Blackbird stated they are not without problems , but then i believe there is no system which is without problems.
-
all the zeptos i have seen have been ~$200 overpriced on the US zepto website for what you get

Zepto prices don't seem that great to me. Here in UK you can get a dell XPS M1530 with better specs, cheaper than the Znote 6625WD. I'd get the dell over the 6625 any day because of DDR3 8600M GT and far better reliability.
Let's wait and see how the Nox A15 does, but if the M1530 starts incorporating montivena and 9600M GT DDR3, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. -
Zepto's pricing is fairly good when you consider some of the alternatives. Your best bet would be to take advantage of one of their many offers. They have these regularly and can be a substantial saving. I bought my notebook for £500, granted it isn't the fastest processor, but at the time of buying the nearest to it in terms of equivalent hardware was nearly £200 more. Even more so as the current price for the entry level 6324W is much higher than I paid. (Just costed it out now. For the similar hardware it would set me back £750 today
Only the processor is slightly faster in that one; 1.66GHz as opposed to my 1.5GHz).

The Nox has DDR3 memory so...
(and Zepto will come with even better 15,4" models)
-
@CLB-NL
Where do you get your info from. Older replies on multiple forums - or? -
My experience is that they provide decent value for money but their customer service is well and truly shocking...
-
And if you don't believe it check out this Nox-trailer:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=taQa67kzn6E
Where you can see the named DDR3 memory at 0:22
EDIT: Or were you talking about the 'newer 15,4" models' ...? -
The new models to come
EDIT: Sorry for stealing the thread.. wasnt my intention -
But if Zepto come out with a 15" with 9800GT or something, I might consider it. -
-
I think it's fair to assume that the hardcore 15,4" new Zepto laptop will have a WUXGA 1900*1200 screen with a nVidia 9800m GT or a GTX.
I certainly hope for a;
but funny enough, according to nVidia it will have 112 cores; link, check specifications.
Aren't 16 cores missing there? -
unless there are coupons or something i cant get a decent config in the USA for under $2100 for the new nox, and im sure when july 15th comes along other laptops with the same specs will be seen for ~$1500
-
The steep price in US$ is propably because Zepto is European based and the dollar-euro ratio isn't in your favor...
-
And Zepto just a while ago expanded to US so that may have a impact on the price
-
well hopefully they get their U.S. prices on par with other retailers because i like the look and specs of the zeptos
zepto worth the money
