    dear zepto users,

i am considering buying a znote 7000, but i still have two questions:

    1) how loud is it getting in office use? did you ever get nerved by the fan while working? (and hows the sound in 3d use?)

    2) do you know whether there is the possibility to upgrade to windows 7 for free?

many thanks in advance & best regards from austria,
    illinx

    1. Theres a button right besides the power button that has a Normal/Silent setting, so you can turn off the fan in office use. Be aware it throttles the machine so it clocks down the processor and graphics card, and the HDD gets a lot hotter in this mode. The fan is not silent and i running all the time at lowest speed, but ive gotten so used to it that i don't even notice it in normal se.

    2. Well I don't think Zepto will offer a Windows 7 upgrade for it, but i've tested Windows 7 on it and all hardware components work just fine. The only driver Windows 7 doesn't find by itself is for the card reader, and for that the Vista driver on the driver CD works just fine.

thanks for your response! (sorry, i thought the forum was gonna notify me if i get a reply)

what do you mean by "the fan is not silent"? is it of remarkable loudness or do you mean the natural fact that when air is moved, it makes noise?

thanks in advance again & best regards, i.

The fact that is is moved, at idle/medium stress.
At top speed you can hear the fan itself also, but the highest temps ive seen on this thing is about 69C on the whole system, which is not much, so good cooling system.
