So I sent my XP install out the window by accident and I was just about to reinstall when i saw the WDP image on my computer. Figured, why not?
I'm currently installing, and so far so good.
Specs:
P3 @ 800mhz
768mb ram
Travelstar 60gb 7200rpm HDD
Windows 7 was running decently on my old 4200rpm fujitsu drive. So i figured i'll give WDP a go, if its too slow i'll go back to Win 7 or XP.
EDIT: Utterly useless. Takes roughly five minutes to boot. Metro lags like there is no tomorrow. Windows 7 is the best this thing can do.

Im amazed you can even get 7 to boot; even with Aero turned off, the kernel alone is 400-500 MB. That doesn't leave a lot of room for apps to work... I'm guessing that's where your 7200 RPM HDD shines; you know it's flogging the crap out of that swapfile...

Yeah, you should vlite the hell out of Seven if you're gonna run it. But it does run quite well, actually. Even on the 800mhz/256mb motherboard.
I'd even go as far as to say that it runs on par with XP. But while XP runs fine stock, you need to modify Seven.
