I have a CF-31XBGAXLM mk4 with an i5 3380m. As per the intel site, the assumption appears to be that this processor can handle up to 32GB. Is this true?

Do you really need 32GB ? I use 16GB in my 53 and that's over kill. I upgrade it from 8GB and it was no faster so it was kinda a waste for money.
