Standing around at a farm sale, doing what I normally do at these things, which is trying to remember where the lots I was interested in are situated ( as I get older this becomes more and more common)...

In the United Kingdom, on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month we observe a two-minute moment of silence in tribute to the Hero's of World War One.

Their Courage allows later generations the option to "Lye in bed tugging it" at eleven minutes past eleven on the eleventh day of the eleventh month!

I was installing 3 POS Workstations at a local WeightWatchers. Their UPS blew up a battery. Their Fax machine got in my way. And OF COURSE, the cat 5 cables were 2 feet too short.

Fortunately, I had my bolt stretchers with me; they made short work of it. ;)

I wore my poppy and stood for a 2 minute silence in remembrance of those who lost their lives for us.

Memorial is the day set aside to remember those who gave it all, Veteran's Day is for those of us lucky enough to have served and come home. For those who don't know, it used to be called Armistice Day and marks the official end of WW1 in 1918. It is still observed as Armistice Day in other nations involved in the "Big One". One hopes that someday we will get back to properly respecting and supporting our veterans, old ones and especially the new ones, in this country.
