MEH! I have access to 256GB Crucial ones for cheap

I think I will be upgrading my CF-31 soon

If anyone knows where to get CF-19 cheap emissive keyboard - I will be happy

I've found one place with really good price (USD 177 + 10 for shipping), but I'm not sure

That is the best price that I have seen for them...they will not last long at that price
 -

Hmmm, I ordered one, hope this makes my CF-19mk5 near perfect. It's just the fingerprintreader that can't be installed that I'm missing.
Do you need to add the emissive keyboard to the bios? -

toughasnails Toughbook Moderator Moderator
Nope...you should have no problem installing it. -

nice! The mk5 is a superb laptop for working with, but not for tweaking. In the bios is a sub-menu that is locked. You can't get in, but you need to go there to add a camera, finger-print-reader or other hardware

I'm proceeding with caution here! Here is the email I got back from this clown:

Got an email back with a track and trace number. Doesn't work yet, but that is not strange, often does take 2-3 days before it shows in the track and trace system. Seems to be shipping out of Hong Kong. I hope it's a good keyboard as I would really like the backlit part.

Hmm, more like paypal protects itself

Got mine in.
BUT. it's a rubber keyboard, not the chicklet that is pictured.
DARN. I didn't want a rubber, wanted chicklet backlit. AAARRRRGGGGHH. -
A bit OT but I had an issue with PP, bought a $1,550 IR laser off ebay - CID contacted me & I turned the item in as stolen property to them - Gave PP all the paperwork & the Agents contacted them also - PP let the seller slide (though he should be in the pin right about now by what the govt said
). Lesson learned - PP sux - they will screw you when you need them most....

well, I installed this keyboard and it works. but typing is a big PITA. But backlight does work. that is for sure.
Its typing so slow that I'm gonna uninstall it right away.
rob, did you get yours in? is it rubber as well?
*edit* Ooooh, this is sooooo much better. My old (one month) keyboard is sooooooo much nicer! -

I would contact the seller and return it. That was way too high a price to pay for a rubber keyboard. I paid $60.00 for mine .Rob said he bought one too well you just wait untill he finds out it's rubber...he is going to FLIP OUT

I PM-ed Rob about it. I've visited the site again and it is clearly a chickelt keyboard in the picture and in the description.
Emailed the seller, lets see whathe has to say for himself. -

Does the one he sold you have the part number on it ?
CF-WKB191VM - Rubber
CF-WKB193VM - Emissive -

No, it just has written with a marker on the bubble wrap: CF-18.
There are no part numbers anywhere.
edit
******************* DO NOT ORDER THIS KEYBOARD***************
this guy send to both Rob and me a rubber keyboard and not the chicklet emissive. complaints at paypal are opened, I will update when there is more info.
