before you all call the search police! I have tried!! but failed! so im looking for some nice easy answers!

Just how weather resistant is the CF-27? the back door is incredibly well sealed, and the side doors too, but the big cover on the bottom looks a bit un-sealed

The mystery bonus pcmcia/mini-pc slot, how do i get to the little bugger?? its under the touchpad, but how?! :)

Also in my searching i noticed a thread doubting the existance of the CF-27E model - Ive found that this is a UK model for BT with WWAN and a REAL UK KEYBOARD!!! woo!! just a shame its white! the keyboard, not laptop! :( lol!

You should have a plastic flap thingy under the big cover on the bottom. Usually it's missing because it gets broken off. Whether or not it adds to the weather resistance is another matter but I've used my Toughbook CF-27 on a picnic table covered in snow and ice in the frozen tundra of upstate New York (which I'd estimate would be like using it in Siberia). English weather is nothing in comparison so your Toughbook should be fine.

That mini-pc slot is useless except for the modem that originally came with your CF-27. The late Gravitar tried a lot of experiments with it without success.

Dr. Blood is right my Mk IV has it and it would be easy to break off matter of fact due to its age it is becoming quite brittle. The problem with the mini PCI slot as Dr. Blood pointed out is that it is configured to work only with the aztech modem. Some think that it is a physical limitation. The only way to know for sure would be to crack the hidden features (If any) on the bios, but phoenix bios's are difficult if not impossible to crack. I follow the "bios mods" forum and although they have been working on it so far they have made little progress.
