Hi there
I am now the lucky owner of a pristine CF52.
Everything seemed to be going well, operating system has been installed (windows7) and its running really fast.
The problem i have is that the wifi card is not available.
it cannot be seen in the operating system or the Bios.
As far as I am aware the wifi was working with the original owner, before I purchased it he reset everything and kept the hard drive. The card is in the machine, its the intel one.
Having done lots of reading on this and other forums, Im thinking its something to do with the bios?
Its the CF-52CDKBVAE
bios V1.50L18 M30
Is there a hidden menu or something in the bios? just found out the SD Card doesnt work either.
Bought this for my boy and hope he isnt disappointed.
Any help appreciated.
THanks!

Is the switch for the WiFi turned on ?? -
OK then, the obvious is make sure the switch is on,then did you or whoever just put windows on it or did you use the Panasonic drivers?
I'm guessing driver issue, pull the long cover on the bottom and make sure the card is there, also reboot,f2 and make sure the WiFi is enabled. -
The M30 at the end of the bios version indicates that it is a special bios.....wifi is most likely permanently disabled, un less you flash it with a standard bios.
UNCNDL1 likes this. -
I missed that M30,ouch. I tried to flash a CF-30 with the special bios with no luck, but the good news is wifi will work with a pcmcia card at least.

When he gets 5 posts I can help...maybe.....I do have the file....I never used it, but I saved it...It may work, it may not....

I suspect that your full model number might be helpful. That will let people know what mark/generation CF-52 it is. This may be germane to changing the bios.

So he did, my bad. :/

Hi everyone. I have a cf52 CF-52CCCBVL2 with BIOS version v1.54L21
I hope someone can help me find an updated BIOS.
Thanks. -
My unit freezes/stays for about a minute in the Panasonic logo every time I boot without fail. A standard BIOS that might fix this might be okay as well. Thanks.

Remove your DVD drive and\see how it boots.
I don't think it is a BIOS problem..
I think the POST is detecting a hardware issue. -
Okay I will do that right now. Thanks.
-
Wow! It did boot fast after I removed the DVD. Would you know How I can boot as fast with the DVD drive installed?
-
The DVD drive is working if I boot the slow way with it installed.
-
quick guess is to replace the dvd drive. I pulled the dvd drive out of the black plastic caddy that it is in and put a bluray burner drive in it.

I will try to do that this week. Thanks so much. You are a really great help. Thanks so much again.
