4200....its not even broke in yet. That's only like having it on for a half a year. I have had my 52 for over a year and I never turn it off.

IIRC I did 1800 hours in 6 months. So 4240 is like a good year of work and not something to worry about!
You see sometimes laptops that are 5 or 6 years old with only 100 hours orso on them. I always suspect them of being tempered with... Not sure it's even possible, but it just looks to good to be true. 4240 seems like a good used two year old one or a light used 4 year old TB.

I've got 2 CF-29s Mk2, but i dont see any operating hours in the bios screen. Is this option only for the MK4 / MK5 CF-m29s ?

Yes, I believe the MK4 CF-29 was the first to show accumulated hours.

I've seen a CF-29 MK5 with 47,000 hours on it... That's about 5.37 years STRAIGHT! The screen is shot! BEYOND dim, alas, it STILL WORKS FINE and the touchscreen works too! :)

    Toughbooks rock!

I think it doesn't, that's why I'm always a bit curious when old, old laptops are sold on fleabay with next to nothing in hours and clear signs of use.

The only unit I've got with accumulated hours is a 29 MK5....so I should have around 44K left in the tank.

    Fingers crossed.

Uuuhm dude, i was thinking that not being able to reset the hours when flashing the bios would mean that it's separate/extra protected in the newer models.

hehehe, using it a lot indeed, but 50k hours?? At this rate I'm using it around 3600 hours a year, so that's 14 years to use it 50k hours! I'm afraid I'll have a bionic/built-in computer by then :D
