    To add the Panasonic logo to the system properties in Vista or Windows 7 just copy the attached .bmp to Windows\System32 folder. Then run the .reg entry to enable the logo.

    Look to see if the file OEMInfo.ini exists in the System32 directory, as you can edit it to include your specific Toughbook information; such as:

    Microsoft Windows XP and the Windows .NET Server family
    WinVer=5.01

    That went away after Windows XP. The info is still there, in a different location and a registry entry controls the display. I haven't figured that out yet.

    Cool--thank you for sharing. I've added this, with attribution, to the HOWTO: Install Windows 7 on a CF-18 mk1 thread. I uploaded a slightly modified image that includes the Toughbook logo and the "Computer for the Outside World" tag line.

    Thanks. I should add that any image should be 120 x 120 pixels. If you used an OEMLOGO.bmp from XP it will look squished.

    I used to add the OEM.BMP and oeminfo.txt to all my custom jobs... Though I haven't done that in a while... It's a nice touch. Still... When I rebuild someones PC with XP... I always leave them a little "surprise"... Sometimes they find it right away... Sometimes it takes months...
