    Is it possible to add the serial rs232 board to a non serial
    machine? The unit is question is a cf-18bel01me.

    A friend of mine has installed the board but neither the
    vga or serial ports are working.

    I got all spex except for whatever the "0" is in that model... Odd...

    I didn't realize that they manufactured any toughbook without serial... Odd...

    Rob - thinking... Maybe a PCMCIA card to serial? PC card to serial?

    RS232 DB9 Serial I/O Port 54mm PCMCIA PC Card Adapter for notebook | eBay - obviously this isn't a very amicable solution to someone who wants a water/dust tight seal... :/

    I am still looking for the post that was on here that someone that was trying to add the serial port. As far as I can remember it was said that the bios update will not work but as I have said above when I find it I will post it here
