Greetings - I searched the forums, but couldn't find anything on this. I want to re-install Windows XP from the installation disk, but when it gets to Windows Setup, it says there was no hard drive found.

I can attach a USB floppy and add additional drivers for the hard drive during the Windows XP installation screens - has anyone else had this problem?

    Thanks,

    Brian

I got in with a live tech support discussion on with Panasonic. There's a driver on there that can be used.

I just have to hit F6 during install with a USB floppy attached and add the additional drivers. Now time to head in and give it a try!

With the newest Toughbooks using sata hard drives windows xp will not find the drive
There is three options to install xp

With the original Panasonic xp restore disk

With an oem xp pro disk using the sata driver you hit F6 when prompted to install sata support

You can make an installation disk up using a software program called nLite and slipstream the sata driver as part of windows
