As the title says I would like to get some help with installing an aftermarket Gps in a 28....it has Gps now and usually I can get them to work...but this time even though I see the data stream and Streets and Trips finds it on Com 4 at 4800 Baud Rate...It still won't lock. Anyway I am a bit of a sucker for a nice 28 and this is one. Thanks in advance. Fell free to PM me,Travis

Have you left it on and outside for an extended period of time? Have you tried winfast navigator, or gpsinfo to see if you are getting any satellite pick ups at all? Seeing data stream, and S&T seeing it means the unit is installed correctly only. The antenna, and connection, determines if you can see any satellites. It sounds like that is your problem. I would verify the antenna is plugged in good (sometimes rotating it back and forth as you push it on helps wear the connection enough to make good contact). And then I would download one of the free apps I mentioned above to see if they can see satellites. If not, you may have a bum antenna or antenna cable/connector.
