After a lot of trial and error (mostly because i'm a newbie to your level of computer knowlage) I fixed the jumpy mouse on my CF-18 with OEM GPS.
So after letting it run for about 24 hours in winfast... I wanted to see if the factory GPS was working and how well... I just rebooted and the jumpy mouse is back!!!??
I did this to solve the problem the first time:
Right click My Computer
Select Properties
Select Advanced Tab
Select Settings in Startup and Recovery
Select Edit
Add /NoSerialMouse (this is case sensitive) to the line that looks like:
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\XP="Windows XP" /fastdetect
so that it now reads:
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\XP="Windows XP" /fastdetect/NoSerialMouse
File - Save
Exit
Reboot
Boot into bios and re-enable the GPS and save and exit.
What do I do now to solve the problem? This is a real bummer? Will it do this everytime?
Please help. And thanks to everyone that helped fix this the first time!

rt..reset the bios into default value and then on exit "save" Now! extract the file(patch) for Gps that I sent to you. If it doesn't extract use winrar and put in one folder. When extracted, go to the file where it was extracted and then double click each file to register on system32.

Great Thanks!!

Hey ohlip, thanks for emailing me the patch. I would love to try it, but damn hotmail wont let me download it because of some threat detection software. I will keep at it and report back.
thanks for the help!!! -
Try sending it as a zip or rar file. I have had luck in the past by doing that on hotmail.

...yes please. Can you resend it?

GPS Registry Patch Application
Pick your Mk# from the list. -
though after a reboot and enabeling the GPS, I still get the jumpy mouse????
What do I do to fix it?? -
So when I double click the patchs it asks me if I want to include them in the registry, I click YES. Then it gives me an error
"cannot import, error accessing the registry"
What now? Is this thing just a busted pos? I cant think that other cf-18 users are able to use their gps? ...right? -
Try it in safe mode....also make sure you just run the Skipnum file...it will be the one on the right....and just disable the serial ball whatever mouse in the device manager.
Oh and did you install the OS from a set of restore discs? -
I cant run either file, thats what I tried to say in my last posts. What do I do about the error when I try to run it?
Try it in safe mode? ...whats that? how to I do that? Do I need to disable the serial ball mouse in device manager and run Skipnum, or will just one fix the problem? -
...Does anyone have any advice? I would like to figure out why I get the error when I try to run the 2 GPS patchs. Am I doomed to NEVER have a working GPS?
Thanks for any help you can give!!! -
This just came to me. I've been watching your posts and researching once in a while with nothing new coming to light.
In Control panel:
Device Manager
System Devices
Scroll down and look for a Panasonic Filter Driver.
Right click...Properties
Mine: CF-29E
Filter Setting....the box filter enabled is checked
Driver..driver details includes gpsfilter.sys and gpsfprop.dll
Details...Root\system\0002
